GRANT GUIDELINES
2008-2009

The Friends Council on Education funds creative and experiential projects for students in Friends schools. Grants of up to $2,000 are available for projects to be completed in the 2008-09 school year. Proposals are due by Friday, April 4, 2008. The Grants Committee will consider all proposals received by the deadline and notify recipients by May 2, 2008.

ELIGIBILITY


  • Friends schools in the United States which are members of the Friends Council on Education are eligible to apply for funds.
  • The committee is sensitive to the needs of the smaller schools and those with limited budgets.
  • Two years must elapse after a school receives a grant before it is again eligible. Schools which do not submit a grant report are ineligible for future grants.
  • The maximum grant for a project is $2,000.

CRITERIA


The following criteria are used in evaluating proposals:

  • Project promotes any of the following purposes: Quaker studies and the Quaker testimonies; collaborative efforts across classrooms, disciplines and schools; diversity and multiculturalism.
  • Project actively and directly involves Friends school students in creative work.
  • Project budgets should reflect careful stewardship of resources.

HERE’S HOW TO APPLY:
  1. Visit the Friends Council website to submit an online proposal. Go to: www.friendscouncil.org > Faculty/Administrators > Grants to Schools
  2. Use the Online Submission Form to provide a description of the project and who will benefit from it.
  3. Include other attachments that help you to describe the project (.doc and .txt files accepted).
