Sean Compagnucci
Sean is the Dean of Students at Thornton Friends School in Silver Spring, MD where he has worked for the past 11 years. While there, he has acted in many additional roles, including chairing the accreditation steering committee, leading professional development groups for teachers, and teaching English. In addition to his current work, Sean's connection with Quakerism has been sustained through a series of associations over the last 25 years with Catoctin Quaker Camp, Sandy Spring Friends School, Olney Friends School, and most recently, the Friends Council on Education.
James Harry Hammond
In addition to facilitating Educators New to Quakerism and the Institute for Engaging Leadership in Friends Schools, Harry serves as clerk of the Friends Council Publications Committee and leads inservice sessions at Friends schools across the country. Harry taught briefly at Delaware and then at Lincoln University. He then took a teaching job at Wilmington Friends School, expecting to stay only until he discovered what career he wanted. More than thirty years later he's now clear that working with students and adults in Quaker schools was the thing for him. Teaching history and sociology led to school improvement projects, various administrative duties (dean of faculty, upper school head, assistant head, acting head), consulting outside the school--including some teaching in Sweden, and involvement in NAIS and FCE work groups. He and his wife Melody are members of Centre Meeting in Delaware, where he currently serves on the Overseers Committee.
