Friends schools outside of the United States and educational organizations whose governance reflects a care relationship with a monthly, quarterly, or yearly meeting, or have at least half of the governing board members who are members of the Religious Society of Friends, may apply for Affiliate membership with the Friends Council on Education.
Affiliate membership is not for Friends schools in the United States.
Friends Council Services to Affiliate Members Include:
- Listing as an affiliate member in the annual FCE directory, which includes contact information for all Friends schools and Friends educational organizations affiliated with the Council.
- Listing as an affiliate member on FCE website with linkage to the organization's website.
- An electronic link to other Friends schools, Friends educational organizations and Quaker educators via the E-quakes listserv.
- A copy of Chronicles, the regularly published newsletter of the Council (text is available on the website for reproduction).
Information about workshops and seminars sponsored by FCE. Access to pamphlets and other FCE literature. (Note: There is a charge for the literature and for postage. Affiliate members will be placed on a waiting list for workshops and peer networks and may participate if there is space after FCE member schools have registered.)
Newly formed Friends schools who wish to make membership application during their first two years of operation will be listed as "New Schools: Membership Applicants" in the FCE Directory of Schools.
Schools that have applied for membership and are waiting during the 2-year period will be invited to conferences and receive one copy of all Friends Council mailings.
