Experience:
Barbara Gilvar has worked with many Friends schools since 1989 and has been involved in the program for mentoring future Heads of Friends Schools. The Friends Schools have included small and large ones, boarding and day schools and ranged from those replacing long-term heads to those experiencing too much turnover. Because of her interest in strengthening organizations and their boards and her knowledge of executive transitions, NAIS selected Barbara to create and edit The Search Handbook, their best selling book for 10 years.
