Upper School Language Teacher

Abington Friends Upper School is currently seeking an experienced Upper School Language teacher to teach multiple sections of Spanish beginning in Fall, 2019. This appointment is for a Spanish teaching position, but candidates with proficiency in French are preferred. Upper School teachers are expected to serve as student advisors; opportunities to coach or supervise other student activities are available.
Qualifications for the position include:
●A minimum of a BA in Spanish, Education, or related field
●Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
●Experience in teaching in an Upper School classroom
●Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of instructional techniques
●Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
●Experience with teaching AP language courses is preferred but not required
●Near fluency in French is preferred but not required
●Willingness to collaborate with other teachers in Upper School and across divisions around curriculum and pedagogy
●Strong written and verbal communication skills.
