The successful candidate will have training in learning differences, differentiating instruction, experience working with students needing remediation and enrichment, and strong organizational skills. An advanced degree in literacy, reading, special education or learning differences is preferred but not required.
The Learning and Literacy Specialist will push into individual classrooms twice a week and work with teaching teams, grades 1 – 5 to support literacy instruction. The qualified candidate will have experience with Readers and Writers Workshop and can support and coach in the instruction of this program as well as supplement in other areas of literacy instruction.
This role also includes:
· serving as the point person for coordinating with outside service providers and specialists.
· Coordinating and running ERB standardized tests
· serving on (and possibly clerking) the Student Support Team
This position is 80% FTE or roughly 4 days a week
