William Penn Charter School seeks an experienced full-time Certified Athletic Trainer to begin in August 2019. Applicants must possess a Master's degree, certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC), and be licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, the successful candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience working at the high school or collegiate level and be available evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
The successful candidate will exhibit a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues as he or she will coordinate with our current athletic trainer and nurse to further develop a comprehensive sports medicine program. This position reports to the Director of Athletics. Familiarity with the principles and practices of the Religious Society of Friends is highly desirable.
Responsibilities of the Athletic Trainer include:
●Organization and management of the athletic training room
●Coverage of all athletic practices, contests, and events including some away events
●Collaboration with the school nurse and the school's collaborating physicians in support of student-athletes
●Management of the school's concussion protocol
●Regular communication with school administrators, faculty, coaches, and parents
●Mentorship of undergraduate athletic training students from local athletic training education programs
●Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
