William Penn Charter School seeks a full-time Upper School Science Teacher to begin in the 2019-2020 academic year. Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in a physical or life science (an advanced degree is preferred) and a minimum of three years of experience teaching at least two sciences. Experience teaching advanced or honors levels and Earth and Space Science is preferred.
The successful candidate will embrace student-centered pedagogy and technology use in the classroom, model curiosity and a desire for professional growth, and exhibit a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues. Familiarity with the principles and practices of the Religious Society of Friends is highly desirable. A full-time teaching load includes the teaching of four classes with multiple preparations as well as engagement in an extracurricular activity. Examples include: coaching, community service, assisting with a theatrical performance, or sponsoring clubs.
