Job Description:

Founded in 1987, Princeton Friends School is an independent Quaker learning community in Princeton, N.J., enrolling approximately 125 students in prekindergarten through 8th grade. The school is located on the grounds of Princeton Monthly Meeting’s historic meetinghouse, and the property is bounded by the Princeton Historical Society’s Updike Farmstead and the woods of the Institute for Advanced Study.

Princeton Friends School offers a forward-thinking progressive curriculum rooted in the Quaker values of peace, social justice, and reflection. The school’s multidisciplinary approach to a central theme of study, whole-child focus, descriptive academic progress reporting, and social justice curricula foster a richly textured learning environment in which students feel a sense of being, belonging, and becoming. Our positive and supportive faculty and parent communities contribute to a strong, vibrant school culture where joyful learning and discoveries are celebrated.

  • Innovative Thinker who can link everyday practice, as well as the short- and long-term strategic needs of the school community, to best practices in independent schools, and who has knowledge of “open systems” thinking to support continuous school improvement, especially in the areas of institutional advancement and budget stewardship.
  • Deft Facilitator who can tap into the strengths and talents of the faculty, administrative team, and parent community, connecting them to school goals, campaigns, and projects that will develop our student body into tomorrow’s leaders.
  • Effective Communicator who crafts language with care and concern, who is able to foster dialogue among a diverse group of stakeholders with sometimes disparate needs, and who can facilitate community-building to further our shared goals.
