What You'll Learn & Experience:

  • Understanding the Spiritual Foundations: Dive into the unique spiritual underpinnings of Quaker decision making.

  • Practical Activities: Engage in hands-on practice to develop your clerking skills and grow empathy for the clerk’s role.
  • Common Language and Practices: Get familiar with the terminology of Quaker Decision Making (QDM), understand the difference between clerking and chairing, and learn the basics of running effective meetings.

  • Nominations Process: Gain insight into the nominations process specific to Quaker schools.

  • Effective Committee Work: Learn how to run meetings when unity is not immediately apparent, including techniques like threshing and clerking in virtual settings.

  • Responsibility Charting: Explore how to clarify responsibilities and embrace ongoing learning in the clerking process.
